I have recently purchased a 2005 340DA that has the Teak galley flooring and steps option. The owner's manual does not recommend a method of caring for this as this is not a standard item. The dealer recommend cleaning the steps and deck in front of the galley with a mild soap and water solution (like dish water). I was concerned with the wood fiber drying and was interested if anyone recommends a surface finish. I scanned the Sea Ray site and the only reference was to utilize the Interlux products but that appeared to me to be more exterior (outdoor) related. Any recommendations are welcomed. Thanks in advance.

The product is called flexiteek. it is a composite made out of rubber and I think some wood fiber. The company recomends cleaning with soap and water and lite sanding if needed. There is no coating on the product.

John,
Appreciate the web link and response. I wasn't sure but thought it was a flexiteek product. I was a bit confused because the material on the steps apprears to be different than the material in front of the sink/galley area. The material in the galley area has more of a wood consistency than the steps. Just some additional info as I plan on cleaning these areas this weekend. Thanks again!
