I am purchasing an 2007 340 soon and the one item it does not have that we would like is the sunpad on the bow. Does anyone have a recommendation on where I could price one out? How about installation on this? Good/Bad? Thanks in advance!

We use reebok yoga mats.... they are thick and roll up with velco. The best part is once they are rolled, you can store them in the forward floor access panel.

Thank you to both of you. For $4,000 there is no chance I am putting them on. The yoga mats sound perfect! Thanks again!

Frankly, the pad is a pain because it is tough to store in the cabin when not using the boat. Yoga mats sound perfect.

When we purchased our 340, we asked the dealer to install some bow pads. They hired a local upholstery shop to make them. They were very nice and comfortable. However, the vinyl material used was also used for the backing. I questioned it, but the dealer said many of their boats have the same pads without any issue.

The pads Sea Ray makes for the 340 have a mesh backing. This allows them to breath, and just as importantly, it allows the fiberglass to breath. I know have a few spots on the now that appear like blisters. Fortunately, i caught them in time and have removed the pads permanently.

My wife really enjoyed the pads. We now use some padded chairs we purchased at West Marine.

Regarding the comment about the rails. I'm not sure why sfergson727 feels you need to have the bow rails. Sure, their nice to have, but not a must. I only allow people on the bow when the water is calm and not while underway.
