340 Sundancer VBerth Speaker Cover

There is one other post about this from 2007 but trying again for better answers (thread diverted to speaker not cover). How do you remove the cloth speaker covers in the VBerth?

The title is pretty self explanatory. I am trying to upgrade the speakers in my cabin. I have my system entirely done except for the speakers above the V-berth. I can't figure out how to remove the fabric grills without wrecking the boat. Anyone have experience here?

Hi Kevin! Harold, friend of Paul G and John, we met at Watch Hill and yours was the first 340 Lisa and I ever saw! Now I have one! Thanks for this, I saw this post. Some said its pulls out and some say there are screws, so I will have to play with it carefully and see which is right.

Are speakers bad or what? I’d leave alone unless absolutely necessary. Easy access seems to not have been factory concern.

Bad stain on port side making clean or replace necessary

Any chance you can feel screw heads under the cloth out toward corners? Just thinking out loud here.
