First post. Please help. 2002 340 Sundancer

Cabin...starboard side seat between v-berth and booth...I'd like to have the seat bottom cushion (matches v-berth bolsters) reupholstered, but I've given up locating the screws to remove it. Other than prying it loose with a pry bar, I'm out of ideas. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not positive, but see if that front, carpeted panel is removable to give you access to the underside and screws holding the cushion on from underneath. Feel around the perimeter of the carpet edge for hidden screw heads.

I appreciate your response. I've tried both of those (perhaps I could have gone farther) but haven't found any screws. Carpet seems glued. I've tried every access (hanging locker, locker underneath berth, floor hatch etc.). Again, thank you for replying. The carpet surface seems to be fiberglass as the port side profile matches (behind the galley cabinet).

I'm not really sure what that means?

Maybe I'm just misunderstanding your response, but... yes, the carpet will be glued to the vertical surface under the seat. But that whole piece may just be screwed to a base frame. I can see an obvious break in the carpet between it and the berth - which leads one to believe it is a separate piece.

Funny, my 2000 seat lifts off.

That seat is screwed down. I believe it is held in place by two phillips head screws in the locations marked on the image. they are very close to the edge of the board for the seat.

They screwed through the upholstery so you will not be able to visibly see the screws but you should be able to find a small hole where they screwed through the fabric near the edge of the board on side of the seat.

That is similar to how mine was installed on my 2004 340DA. If you can pry up slightly you may be able to get the blade of a hack saw or flat blade multi-tool dremel under it.

While not the same this will give you an idea about what I did:

AllTideUp and KevinC...Just the info I was looking for, thank you! I started to pry it up, but lost my nerve. The admiral was begging me to find a professional. I said, "Ye of little faith". Her response: "I didn't want to be mean, but you forced my hand...you have a history of breaking things".

    Thanks again!

    Maybe mine was already unscrewed?
