Hi everyone. I am trying to activate the Sirius Satellite on my Clarion stereo on my recently purchased 2007 340 Sundancer. When I press menu as per the instructions it doesn’t offer any Sat prompts ... any suggestions??

That usually indicates the SAT receiver is not connected or its dead.
Thanks for the reply. That was my thought too, but I cannot figure out how to access the back of the stereo which is mounted in the main distribution panel. It only pulls out so far before it stops. The stereo is Sirius ready??

You could contact us Sirius and see if they can ping the unit.

If you still have all the original paperwork my dealer stuck the SN on the inside of the owners manual.

I recommend you call Sirius and make sure you get connected to the marine division . They have been very helpful to me in the past when I had issues with channels loading properly. They will likely (if you get connected to the right person) be able to guide you thru accessing whatever information they need from the unit itself.

Thanks to you all. I’ve just gone through the previous owners manuals and paperwork and there doesn’t seem to be an SID number anywhere. Apparently, there is a SIR-CL3 Sirius Connect radio tuner mounted somewhere on the boat which should have the SID number on the bottom. Any ideas where that may be mounted??

on 99% of SAT ready units, when the (working) receiver is connected, you can mode to SAT and you get the preview chnl playing. Some heads allow you to see the SID. When you do not get the preview chnl or the SAT mode is not active, its usually no receiver connected or its just dead and the head does not recognize it.

I’m hoping that’s not the case because I can’t figure out how to access the back of the head unit.

I recently upgraded my clarion on my '05 340. IN order to access the back of the head unit I pulled out the whole switch panel just below it. 6 screws and the whole thing can be leaned forward, with all the wires neatly tied up in the back. That allowed me to get my hands up behind the head unit and guide the wires through as I pulled the head unit out.
I also upgraded my remote satellite receiver which was a Clr1 and not compatible with the M608 Clarion that I was installing. It was mounted on the "wall" behind the bottom drawer below the AC panel. As far as I know, that was a factory installation as the boat was ordered with an upgraded premium sound system, so there is a good chance you will find it there also. The id# was labelled on it as well.
