340 hatch not opening

We have the same boat. I connect the shore power cord to the yard 110 volt outlets with an adapter. I then turn on the converter in panel. Then I press the battery switches. This will allow power to your gage panel. From there raise the hatch as usual with the dash switches. No need to jump anything. I do this every weekend.

I am assuming you are on the ground in storage.

To answer the question on profile, i own an 06 340 sea ray on Long Island NY, 350 hours white hull with 8.1s. I have power to the key pads however my port key pad is not allowing the engine hatch to open. I want tovsend power to the ECM in the bildge to see if it operates the rams, if it does i know that the key pad is faulty. SO, is there a wayI available to do this from under the helm?

Did you mean EIM in the bilge?

I think the problem is that since your port side peanut pad sends the signal to the aft EIM, which is in the forward part of your bilge, it's just 4 wires from the pad to the EIM. I don't know how those signals work, but you wouldn't be able to send a "turn on the hatch ram" signal without knowing how to do that (or using another known working peanut pad).

Did your hatch ever work? It could be the pad, or the wiring from the EIM to the hatch actutator, the actutator itself, or even the 20 amp hatch breaker on the EIM.

I had a problem where the transom door sensor was the problem

Excellent point I forgot to mention this ... The transom door must be all the way open or the hatch will not function. Just a reminder in case you knew that :)

I could not find the break in the wire for the door sensor so I jumped the relay in the bilge, you can get at it from under the seat behind the helm from the access panel in the floor

Not just the transom door but any cockpit cabinet/storage doors that can interfere with the hatch when open will have the same effect. That said, I have an 09 350/370. The hatch relay fails quite often. My boat has a “ hatch switch” located below the helm that is direct wired and bypasses the relay.

How did you wire that aux switch, I might have to do the same thing. I have been in touch with Digital Marine Services and Blink Marine. Digital Marine has a nicer looking pad with a 1 year warranted, Blink has a two year warranted, but not as nice looking. At any rate if I have to replace the pads I will have a stb side pad available for sale.
