I have a 97 330 that does not have the factory spot light. I bought a Jabsco remote spot and I am installing this weekend. Does anyone know where Sea Ray runs the wiring in the OEM unit? I would like to run it the same way if possible. I haven't checked yet but it would be nice if the wiring was already there but I suspect it is not.

On my old 95 290 the factory light was mounted on a platform on the top of the bowrail and the wire was routed inside of the entire length of the bow rail and entered the engine room where the rail terminated against the hull side. Intalling that one would be tough. Luckily I believe on a 97 330 the light is mounted on the deck like it is on my 370 and the wiring is bundled with the wiring for the windlass and runs along the back of the hull to deck joint. I would be very surprized if the wire was installed on your boat at the factory if the light was not ordered as an option. You will need to remove the various covering boards and other trim pieces that cover the hull to deck joint to run the wire but it can be done.

Thats what I thought. Its going to be a bit of a pain with all the interior bits and pieces along the route. I'll plan it for a weekend when I have a bit more time and patience.

I don't know why the difference, but sometimes the wiring is there, sometimes not. I've seen them come in both ways and there is no way to tell unless one actually looks. HIN number will do nothing. With the older boats, there was more of a chance that the wiring would be there. But don't get your hopes up:smt101

I never looked, yet.. But would the wiring if there be visable from the anchor locker I imagine it passes through there up high. I would think you can run it above the the cabinet over the settee, take out the radio and you should have enough clearance, then through the hanging locker. Then I believe that the forward berth has a trim piece up close to the deck that I think is held on with 3 screws. Part the seam in the center and take a look in there. That will get you up to the anchor locker.

Best of luck!! Hope the wire is already there for you at the bow and helm!!!
