I have a 2004 320 Sundancer and want to bypass the Hot Water Heater for winterization. Does anyone know if the fittings are a standard hose connection like 1/2 inch npt.

Is it as simple as just emptying the hot water heater and then connecting the cold water hose coming in to the hot water hose going out and then reconnecting back to the heater in the spring time?

I can't say for sure on the hose fitting size, but I believe that they are 1/2" FIP. If you measure the actual ID of the fittings, I think it measures at or close to 3/4".

    Yes, it is that simple.

    Good luck,
    Mike

I went to West Marine to buy a bypass kit and they didn't have it. ($25)

I then went to Lowes and found what I needed. The pipe threads matched up with the same pipes used for underground sprinklers. I found a 12 inch flexible pipe with male ends on both side. I disconnected the cold going into the hot water heater and the hot coming out of the hot water heater. I used this pipe to connect the these 2 together. I opened the valve on the bottom of the hot water heater and let it drain out. I think the pipe cost $3 or $4.

If it's an Atwood model water heater, then they should be 1/2 NPT fittings on the tank. Atwood may have screwed on another nipple/tube onto it so you may have have to take it off and screw on your own fittings..
