Just noticed one of my bulbs in the light above the couch,
the small swivel accent light, is burned out.

Anyone know how to change the bulb?

I tried turning the fixture, but that doesn't seem
to work.

Help!!!!

Guys I have tried turning these &%$# lights and they will not budge. I've looked and looked at them trying to figure out if the glass pops out. Nope! And because the swivel of course the bottom piece doesn't screw out.

Please if anyone has advice on this little beauties I'd appreciate it.

Well I have tried everything, except a hammer, to get this friggin light off. I even used a oil filter wrench and the darn thing will not budge.

Looks like I am going to have to ask SR for the secret.

Maybe its a good time to consider replacing with an LED fixture.

SR tells me you have to "carefully" slip a small screwdriver between the fixture frame and the lens. Apply a gentle force and the lens will pop out!!!!!!

The lights I am referring too are outlined in the SR parts manual for an '05 320, page 46, item 2.

I'll post next Monday as to how that worked for me!

Are you talking about the small lights over the couch. I know that you have to pop the lens out of the small reading lights in the front berth. Fortunately the dealer showed me on one on their lot. But the lens in the front lights did bend once I stuck a screwdriver in it.

Yeppers, those little tiny lights over the couch. You don't by chance know what size bulb?

All the other lights are G4 base bulbs. I am not sure what they are, but I have spare G4 bulbs on the boat. They available anywhere.

Thanks. Those are the push in type flat base right?

I'm guessing probably figuring a 10 watt output?

The smaller ones are usually 10 watts. The larger lights are a higher wattage.

Stan...I am confused which lights you are talking about. Are you talking about the one directly overhead of the couch that is 4-5 inches or the small ones that swivel over your cabinets? If they are them small swivel ones over the cabinet behind your couch (and also in the vberth and mid cabin), you can buy these lights at Lowes. They are 10W...12V. Look for landscape lights. The last ones I purchased were a 2 pack of bulbs for 5-6 bucks. On popping out the lens, I think I used a knife to genty pop it out.

Tawcat:

Did you get the lens/shroud off?

Is your light a tan-colored plastic with a translucent-white lens surround and a clear bulb cover (that doesn't quite cover the whole opening)?

If that's the case, that shroud does indeed just "pop" off. Hold the base with one hand and rock the shroud off. It just fits on by friction.

Jeff: The swivel ones over the cabinet above the couch!!!! I have a few 20w bulbs, but think I will get a few 10's. However, I am going to try the 20's to see if they light up the salon a bit more.

Laze Daze: Haven't got the lens off yet, but I think I've got the fix now. The lens actually pops out to access the bulbs.

Jeff: We are still so enjoying the boat. The other night while we were laying in the berth watching TV, my wife out of the blue said "I love our boat."

Think I finally got my GPS figured out, so this fall we will cruise the lake saving and archiving routes along the way for use at night next summer!!!!

Exactly. thats the way mine come off.

I would also suggest forgetting about replacing with another amp burning hot haolgen G4.

Get some of these and your done. Cool and very efficient. I have replaced all of my G4 cabin reading lights with these. I like the Warm white version which is close to the original halogen color temperature.
