Thinking of getting an autopilot. Just wondering where you guys that have them mounted the pump, electronics and all that stuff. Since the 340 is very similar, thought I would get some input from you guys as well. Might be a little different but pretty much the same. If you have pics and how you plumbed everything, hooked it up, that would be great.

Thinking about the Simrad AP24 with associated Simrad/Navico pieces. Currently have a Northstar M84 with boradband radar so it will interface using NMEA.

Thanks guys.

What do you think the total price was on the 340. Did you do the instillation yourself? I would like to have an autopilot on my 05 340 Sundancer.

Thanks Scott, does give me some ideas on the install. I also noticed that Raymarine does not require the rudder feedback, calls it smart sense. Not sure how that works but I like the idea of having a positive feedback controller for the rudder indicator. But might be worth looking into ? Thanks again, think of anything else I will let you know. Gotta love learning from those that have already done it.

I mounted my pump behind the removable panel next to the helm. This shorted the hose run's and all other connections. The computer I mounted under the helm seat panel also, very easy. I also used 3 gate valves to isloate the pump in case of failure. I have all raymarine, c120, s2/6001 autopilot.

That sounds like a good area, I will take a look at that. Thanks for the advise.

the only time you hear the pump is at idle, but it's not that bad. Mounting the pump close to the helm is much easier hose, power, gps, controller, etc. Works great I use autopilot alot.
