3126 Owner and Fan...

You dont say what year, but 300 hours? Seems low. One Owner boat?

The Valve Lash adjustment is supposed to be done at the first oil change or 250 hours (depending on which manual you look at), but regardless its supposed to be done early in the life of the engines. Hopefully its documented, but if not, it would likely need to get completed.

The good news is you would have that procedure documented for the future and have a very good idea of the mechanical status and health of those engines. The bad news is somebody's going to have to pay for that service. This would not be a deal breaker for me.

@fwebster - Frank, was this the era on these engines where the exhaust riser could be Stainless Steel and were to be replaced AFB with Bronze per service bulletin? Or was that only the 3116's
Bullet Proof engines - things from my perspective to look at -
Exhaust Riser if applicable.
Fuel Primer - they tend to leak fuel.
Exhaust blow-by test - super critical survey test.
Oil analysis and coolant analysis
Take note of the gear part numbers. If they are Hurth HSW gears look closely at the oil analysis and listen to the port gear with a stethoscope. There is a case strength issue when used on the port side as that side's load is on the countergear within. If they are ZF85's then no issues have been noted.
