3116 oil pressure at idle

We are new to this boat and to diesel power. What are considered acceptable oil pressure readings at idle when up to operating temperature?

I don't know what Caterpillar says, but mine engines have about 1000 hours, we use SAE 30 oil and both engines hold over 40 psi at idle.

Thanks My stb engine is at around 40 psi the port is closer to 30-35.

Some differential at low rpm is to be expected. All the components in the gauge system have tolerances, but it the 5 or so psi bothers you it is easy to swap the pressure senders and see if the difference follows the sender. If it does, then replace one and keep trying until you get a pair that match.

Thanks again. I can live with the 5 psi delta. I just wanted to get a sense if I may have a oil pressure issue pending on these engines... again I am brand new to diesel.
