3116 Cats-poor performance

I need the name of a good diesel machanic or service for my 3116's. i'm located in the upper Cesapeake bay area. I have hot start issues, low idle issues on starboard engine. also, I cant tell if both engines run in sync as gages are inaccurate. I have some experience, just want someone to put my mind at ease.

Also, does anyone know of a good injector service. My generator recently started smoking and I noticed a bit of fuel on the water this wknd.

You've got Ransome Cat up your way and Alban is the Cat dealer for your area.

George Jewell is a good guy to deal with up at Ransome.

There's another independent guy I know, but I can't really vouch for his work. I think he's good and he comes recommended but he didn't do much work for me. I'll PM you as I don't know if he wants his info plastered about.

I've used both Ransome and Alban and would recommend Alban any day. I and many others in my marina had issues with Ransome's pricing. Danny Craig is a local independent CAT guy but I don't have his # handy.

Thanks for the advice. I used Ransome's in NJ where i purchased it. Albin is close to me too. Just wanted check with fellow boaters on who we can trust.

I use Ransome for parts and whatever service I can't tackle myself. None of these guys are cheap, I like Ransome because of easy scheduling, reliability, and they stand behind their work. I have heard that Tolchester Marina has good CAT mechanics but I have no first-hand experience with their service (but I can vouch for very good crab cakes at the beach bar)

My bad experience was with one Ransome store so that may not be company wide. I have also used and will vouch for Tolchester as well, Charles Shriley is very fair.
