310 Sundancer Thread (2007 & newer)

...45mph with the stern drives. And I can fit four large men in my ER. With axius docking is a breeze.

Yes, what JimT said. I would add that while I would never consider putting B3's in a salt environment, for freshwater they're great. Add Axius to the mix and otherwise challenging docking situations become easily managed.

The ER of a 310/330 vdrive setup seems like it would be difficult to work in...

It certainly is!

So yes, WOT @ 4800 RPM, I get in the low 30's with the 350 Mags and V-drives.

I should actually temper my sterndrive enthusiasm with how much I just spent for 2 complete transom assemblies (requiring engine rem/repl) due to the inane Merc/B3 upper swivel pin (lack of) design.

Just saying it's not all roses w/ the sterndrives .

I had this same issue develop on my port outdrive of my 290. Would freely swivel probably 3+ inches side to side. Was fixed by the buyer when I sold it so I don't know what it cost but not cheap.

I gotta say, the hole stern drive/v-drive decision really has me wondering which way to go. I likely will not go up in price to an Axius equiped boat but I'll be fresh water. I think i need to sea trial a v-drive boat and decide if I like the performance.

It's all about proper Maintenance!

Whatever you're doing seems to be working. Congrats! :smt038

I would ask how much water do you normally find in your bilge? Have you inspected your steering levers where they attach to the upper swivel pin? That's usually the first place/way you can detect the seal failure. It happens in fresh water, too. It's just that the mild-steel swivel pin itself corrodes quicker in salt which then destroys the seal which in turn allows water intrusion (which causes more/faster corrosion in a salt environment).

I wanted to keep the original looks and did not want to add an aft bow. Instead i extended the bimini bow and made an all new canvas behind the arch.

so you just had a new longer sunshade made and then new back/side panels?
do you have any pics of under sunshade ? Thanks

My mesh speaker covers on the radar arch have black stains where the cockpit cover rubs against them. Has anyone else had this problem and if so what did you do to clean? Thanks.

Hey everybody just took delivery of a 2007 310 dancer last season and starting to really dig in and figure out all its features

I've been reading the manual and something is not completely clear to me was hoping to get some assistance

In the head there is a key with a switch and I'm trying to ascertain how to determine how full the pump out the head is there are two buttons but when I turn the key on and push them I don't see anything happening was wondering if anybody could enlighten me on what this key is for and if it needs to be on in order to use the pump out head

Right now it seems I just need to turn the water pump on and the head system breakers and that will allow me to flush the head but I can't seem to get a readout on how full the holding tank is see my picture below

Congrats on the boat! The two buttons on that panel are not buttons but are breakers. They will pop out if tripped. The key should have two positions--one is for normal operation (on) and the other is for running the overboard discharge pump (sea cock must be open and must be 3 miles off shore for US).

To operate head under normal circumstances, freshwater pump breaker and head system breaker (main panel) need to be on. Key (on panel near head) also needs to be in on position.

I will add that the level indicator on the head panel on my boat seems intermittent. There are indications for empty/quarter/half/3quarter/full but I only occasionally see a reading. I'm assuming the sensors in my waste tank are fouled. When lit, they are easily visible in the little black window near the key on the head panel.

Hope this helps-

that is very helpful, yes I did notice the key had 2 positions just couldn't tell if it was necessary to have the key on while using the head. I'll give that a go and appreciate your assistance! big help!

You need the key to the "On" position for the vacuum pump to work.

I am pretty new to this so if "Freshly" guys are fresh water what are salt water guys call?

I just want to thank everyone on this thread! I have read everyone's post and have learned a lot about the boat we take possession of April 30th! I hope to add value to all that have helped me and I don't even have the boat yet! :smt038

hello all happy spring, looking to see who has installed underwater lights to this particular model ? I have 3 lumitec seablaze x ready to go in
just wondering on placement -how far down and how far from port/starboard sides? and did you use 4200 or 5200 ?thanks.

Happy boating season!

Ok, so there what appears to be a compartment directly in front of the bed, on the floor - about 16" long an 10" deep. Normally covered by carpet savers. How does it open?
