We have to be either the most satisfied owners or we are a minority among the Sundancers.

There used to be quite a few us here.....how many owners are left? After going through the bugs of buying new, I'd say I'm one of the satisfied owners.

How about the rest of you?

Not sure I qualify here buy I have a 1989 300 SD, love the boat!

Overall we are happy. We had some issues: gimbal bearing gone after the first season, and some cosmetic stuff.
We also bought new

Wouldn't trade it for the world......unless I get a winning Powerball ticket.....

We love our 2005 300DA - The admiral says the 43DA will be our next boat - so we will probably have this one for a loooooooong time - seriously, great upgrade from our former 280 tons more storage and a real mid cabin - so far me nor any of my friends have had outdrive corrosion issues (our boats are only in the water 5 mos or so and the water never really warms up) but a lot of people on this board have me thinking I should have gotten a boat with shafts - Hmmm maybe that clean '05 390 with gassers the dealer just took in on trade..............No - we love our 300!

Scorpio and I have the same boat! Bought it used and I've had to replace an original shift cable and the 19 year old spark plugs. Other than that, I love that 11 foot beam even when traveling down the freeway! It's a great size and has a lot of space and storage. It's not new, but it's paid for! :)

I've had my 300 for two seasons, I had a very long punch list to work through following delivery, I still have a cople of open issues that will (should) be taken care of in the spring. Some of my issues I believe are related to the fact that my dealer got the boat from another dealer and there wasn't any communication about what had been setup or not.

The boat itself is exactly what we wanted, we boat mostly in fresh water but have transported it to the ocean for a two week cruise each year.

I am still around....I really like the 300...but have to admit I have been eyeing some 340DA's and 360DA's.

It took about two seasons to work through most of our issues. That said, our dealer, S/R customer service, really worked with us to get it right. The last issue, relocation of the EIM in the bilge was resolved in the 3rd season, out of warranty. I didn't have an extended warranty either.

The "seasoned" 300's of the late 80's and 90's are what prompted me to start looking at the 300 during my 270 years.

I had the EIM relocated as well after I noticed my blowers shutting off when I ran the Genset. I found out, on this website, that this was a Sea Ray recall issue, not communicated to the dealers. My, and maybe should be your, question is why didn't your dealer do this at no charge?

This will be our second season with ours. Season one was a challenge. Numerous mx issues but sea ray and marine max were great to work with.

Hoping for a better season this year... With that being said, we love the boat and are happy with our purchase..

I've thought about starting a ponzi scheme or applying for bailout money to finance a new 380 or 400 DA but those ideas have been snatched up. I will most likely stay with my 1995 300 DA for yet another season...but I love her.

Big props to the 1994 to 1997 300DA sweeeet boat.

Dan

My dealer + S/R relocated it at no cost. Not all 300's with 350's and 5E's had the problem so I don't think it ever went to a recall status. They resolved them as they became a problem. If you didn't run your generator during hot weather, you likely wouldn't have noticed the problem.

We are loving our 2006 300SD. This will be our second season with her. She handels well, even in 5-6 footers. We bought her used with 2 seasons so the bugs were worked out. The only issues so far are the cheap plastic finger on the lofrans windlass broke and the voltage regulator went on the Kohler 5.0. I fixed the windlass and Kohler fixed the reguator.

The only complaints I have about her is I wish she had a bit more range and if you open the cockpit fridge while moving or in swells EVERYTHING falls out and rolls under the aft seat.

What happened when the regulator went belly up?

The Gen was running when it went. We heard a loud electrical "thwack" and the motor powered itself down. Two blown fuses was the first clue it was electrical and after replacing them the new ones blew when I attempted to start the gen. Kohler figured out the rest. Interestingly the remote start breaker in the cabin also fried. Fortunately nothing else got cooked with the surge.

New to the forum last few month owned the 300 sundancer for 6 years, my 2nd Sea Ray.:smt038
