Been throwing this around for a while. My center support where it screws to the transom has come away - screw heads busted off mainly due to rust (and yes there where stainless, but obviously not very good quality)

Dont really want to haul it just for that, as its not due really until next year.

Basically just need to refix with two screws/fastners - and before I loose another support

Any ideas - someone must have done this before.

Also is the transome plywood cored or solid fibreglass.

Thanks

Stu

Sounds like its short haul time, no way around it to do it properly.

I agree. No quick fix. When the boat was pulled, I thought the mounting was under designed. Fasteners pulled thru the transom and platform. The supports had broken.

My marina made heavy dutu surrorts, reincorced the fiberglass inside the transome and the platform hand use 3/8 ss fasteners with washers

I have a 30 weekender 88. I added two more braces for a total of five. This way the weight is spread out more evenly. The core is plywood. I do scuba and with the extra weight I needed a more stable platform. Hope this helps. Frenchie

When you say the core is plywood do you mean the core of the swimplatform or the transom ?

Thanks

Transom is cored with plywood.
