300 Weekender front v-berth drain

I used a fish tape on mine, with a sharp point. Thats how i found it. I dont belive we are supposed to have an open pipe from the engine bilge to the living quarters, for obvious reasons.
so now that you know how it works, plug it back up and fix that leak!!

Oh yeah, it's getting a new plug and i've already fixed the leak. Just glad to know how where the drains go. I like knowing how things are supposed to work. Makes issues easier to diagnose and fix.

I wonder if the Sundancers are set up the same way? Would be hard to find since there is a large area covered by the shelf the batteries, generator and waste tank sit on. Come spring, I will need to use an inspection camera and look under there and see what I can.

great bit of info speakerdude!!!!! my boat leaked like a siv when i got it in oct. I have it sealed up tight as a drum now. not a single drop of water anywhere. this spot i had not checked since i did the repair in the anchor well because i figured it was draining into the shower bilge. very heavy rain all day yesterday not to mention the previous several weeks and there was about a quart or so of water that had drained into the fwd bilge. I'm fairly certain and hoping its from before i did the glass work in the anchor well. plugging it up though I'm on the fence about. i don't want water going from the bilge to the cabin but i also want water that may get into the v berth are to get to the bilge pumps. plus as you can see the wiring for the anchor motor goes through this pipe. again, excellent tidbit of info right there. not sure if the pic is uploading

did you have much water come through when you removed the cap?

Not a ton, but the pipe was definitely full back to the v-berth. It drained out and all is well. I'm just glad to have it all figured out. It really wasn't a bad leak and I had already fixed that anyway.
