A little glare there so can't really tell the speed, and nice image of you in the gauges. Looks like 32mph at 3600rpm, correct?

It was 30.5mph @ 3600 rpm. As you can see I need two new outbd guages. The are clear at the start of the day but always fog up after a while. Very aggravating.

I finally got tired of trying to keep track manually on my '04 and bought 2 20" senders from Royce Industries. http://royceind.com/flexi-sensor.php#purchase
Very simple installation and so far there has not been any issues. I think it was $90 +\- a side. We'll give her a good test in February when we spend a week in the Gulf.

On a different note: has anyone recaulked their windshield? If so, did you remove it completely or just scrape out the old and caulk the seams? I'm leaning towards pulling all of the screws and rebedding the whole thing but that will be a pretty big job.
This looks very tempting. $83 for each one. But what made the install so straight forward? Both my existing sendors on my '04 have very little clearance above them (like 6 inches or less). Plus the sender attachement on the port tank is in the middle of the top of the tank, making it challenging to reach in and unscrew things. Do the existing and Royce senders flex to allow for easy removal and installation?

The starboard side is pretty simple. 5 Screws and tilt the old sender toward you while pulling it out.The new unit goes in the same way, just looks tight.

The port side requires the removal of the battery switch panel (4 screws) to gain access above the existing sender. The wires are long enough to just set aside the panel w/ switches while working on this sender. I only had to cut the foam as a 4" hole was already in place (maybe from O E installation?)
This side requires a little dexterity when removing and reinstalling the screws but if patient it isn't too bad. I didn't ask for a quote from anyone but have read the price for installation varied from $100 to $200. Self installation for me was a no-brainer. BTW there is no flex on the Royce tube, it's SS.

Spent the 65 degree day playing on the boat and finally addressed my non-functioning DVD player. I ended up velcroing a spare home DVD player to the top of the cabinet and have removed the factory Farenheit unit. Figure I'd test out the robustness of a home player in dealing with choppy waters this summer. Eventually I'll just use an IPOD to drive the video rather than a disk player. Side note: was a little bit of work getting access to the RCA plugs; had to unbundle them from the factory wadded up, wrapped with 10 miles of electrical tape, installation. So now I have a hole and a nice little storage shelf behind it. I am thinking of removing the false front and then making a removable cover of some kind to use it for storage of loose items. Any of you have any ideas on this. Thanks. Bonus question: What show was I watching?

My 92' 300 w/alpha drives runs about 36mph at 3600 rpm? I have 350 carbs and weigh 10k. Wonder why you are running slower? My top end is 42 mph @4600rpm. Maybe you can run higher rpm. Just wondering. thanks rob

My wife found the aft facing lounge seat uncomfortable due to no cushion (so the seat can swing open). Also she finds the white washout look boring. So she made up a fill cushion and some pillows using sunbrella. It fits perfect. (I have no idea why I can't shrink these pictures - sorry about that)

Can any 2002-2007 300DA owners give me the measurements of the fiberglass cockpit table? Mine's still under shrink wrap and the size is not mentioned in the parts manual. Thanks, Brian

Can anyone give me the length and width dimensions of front berth and also the aft L shaped conversation pit when converted to bed.

Thanks in advance.

Melida, The aft berth will be easier to answer than the forward berth because of it's shape. Aft berth is approx 6' Long and 48" Wide.
The forward berth is angled so here are the measurements give or take an inch. My helper wasn't cooperating with me. :) Picture 1) is 6' 5" Picture 2) 5' 3" Picture 3) 7' 2" and picture 4) is 5' My wife and I sleep similiar to how the tape measure looks in the first 2 pictures. Hope this helps. Regards, Brian

Brian and Cathy, If you could...also the thickness. I want to be able to store it in the dedicated storage spot. Thanks again, Sincerely, Brian

Brian,

Great thanks for the dimension and taking time to took this wow photos.

It was very helpfull since I don't have any 300DA's around me nowadays to test and measure the beds.

I'm 1,85 and wife is 1,65, it seems we could sleep in pic 1 and 2, and/or if I'm alone would prefer pic 3 and daughter could fit somewhere.

Thanks again.
