Two weeks ago I had my annual service done on my boat, while on the rack my mechanic says we should also replace bellows I said do it... so out drives where pulled and job done. I go out for the river test and the port engine starts to run hot. So mechanic comes back and and puts a new water pump and impeller assambly on the engine and the engine is still running hot. this boat ran flawless before the service 3 weeks ago . Is there anyway something was done wrong when the outdrives went back on that made this boat run hot? Thanks in advance for your help !

I am presuming same as the Volvo out drives, engine water pick up is through the leg

The norm during service is to clean out the pickup from growth etc, wondering if water is actually getting through to the water pump

Maybe something blocked, or left loose

Sometimes if the impeller fails the pieces are not always retrieved. Not sure this is your problem, but just changing the impeller sometimes does not mean getting all the parts out that broke apart and clog up the system after the pump. A kinked or crack inlet hose sounds more reasonable as Cod said above.

The impellers that came out where in great shape nothing was wrong with them ...they looked almost new.. I hate to trash them.
