300 AMP Alternator

Today I met a boater who had a 300 AMP alternator on his Detroit Diesel does any one know if you can place this size on a 454.If not 300
how big can I get. Want stand alone alternator for the 10 six volt golf cart house batteries.

I just met a guy at my marina that says he has 2 300a alternators in his 31 Formula 31PC, he has 4 group 31 AGM batteries dedicated to his inverter (2500W pure sign wave) and said it would run his A/C four about 5 hourse without starting an engine, and if he did he could run the A/C almost continuesly off the alternator. This guy is an electrical engineer....
