3 IAC Valves in the past year

Hey guys,


Just blew my 3rd IAC valve in the past year on my Mercruiser 5.0 MPI. Any advice on what can be causing this? My mechanic is scratching his head. Also had to replace my ECM last month. What a way to start the season...

Has he changed or removed the IAC muffler? a dirty/clogged one can cause IAC failure

I'll ask about Voltage, but I'm assuming this was checked when my starter went last season (yeah that too). IAC & Muffler were both changed in April. I only ran the boat about 5 times since launching for the season.
