3 foot shore power extension.

My 06 290 Amberjack has the shore power connection inside the trunk on the starboard side. My water connection is there too.
Both are difficult to connect. I am right handed as well.
I have a 6 foot section of water hose that allows me to make an easy connection.

Does anyone make a short shore power cable. 3 to 5 feet would be perfect.
2 feet would be way better than what I have.

Thanks

Hey Bill, good to see you around again. You may want to consider getting a second shore power cable, leaving it connected and left on the boat as a travel cord when at transient marinas and leave the other one at the dock.
Then easily attach the 2 when at your home marina. Most times it cost almost as much if not more to make a extension with quality supplies then it would for a new 25'er.

Have a marine electrician make one. Not cheap but viable. People replace cords all the time. Cut one down to what you want and have new ends put on.

Google "home generator power cords" and you will find all kinds of cords and parts. Cords start at $34.00 for a 10 foot cord. Plugs, both male and female start around 10-12 dollars. I made a 18" pigtail to plug into my dock power outlet to run my de-icer motor for around $18.00. I cut down an old shore power cord to the 18" length and bought the plugs online. It was very easy to wire the plugs. You can buy pigtails at West Marine but this is much cheaper if you have an old Shore power cord. Most marinas have them laying around and might even give you one if your asked them.

Thanks. All good ideas!
Ive had the boat 13 years and this is the first at a marina in the water.
Lots of stuff on the boat thats hardly been used. Sort of a whole new learning curve.

Mitch, i have the mains back in. I installed closed cooling. Full system. I do my own work so labor cost is not an issue.
I met someone on this site with the same boat as me. His mechanic wanted over 12k to install closed cooling.

I can only imagine it must be all mercruiser parts. He said he was going to put in new ecu's at 2k each.
Ive heard this before.
My question is : How is the ecu for a horizon closed cooling engine different than raw water cooled?
I learned after the fact that the horizon engine has a smaller engine water pump pulley so it spins faster. Also a small bypass hose that goes from the intake manifold to the top of the water pump.

I have a bit of a temp spike when i come off plane and idle.
