We were cruising along, just launched the boat having a great time when one engine died, no power to it what so ever, nothing at the key or at the engine. so we trolled along on the other for an hour and i tried the engine circut breaker and the engine came alive, for the rest onf the day the engine was fine, trolling cruising, you name it. has anyone expierienced this?

Never had that happen to me but sounds like you have a freyed or loose wire some were that is grounding out, i would take a look at the wiring harness and all conections around the engine could just be something the is slightly loose and only makes contact with ground on the right conditions.

If the main breaker tripped that's a pretty serious short. I would go over the wiring completely to find the issue before something catches on fire or gets fried permanantly.

Check your battery wiring and see if it is all intact.

I would echo the others. You probably have a short in a wire somewhere and it will happen again. You should trace down all the wires and retighten the connections and replace wires or connections any that are corroded. I had an ignition wire short on me once idling out of a cove 18 miles away from home base. It caused a misfire and the engine counter rotated and drew water in the exhaust and the engine hydrolocked. Then when I tried to restart, the starter torque on a locked engine broke the starter. Luckily the weather was nice and I was still in shallow water so could drop an anchor. 5 hours of waiting and a tow for $500, plus new starter and fault finding and wiring replacement by the mechanic for the better part of another $1,000 and i was back in business.
