290 sundancers 1994-midyear 97 "We need a thread"

Great pics, that very similar to what I was thinking.

Can you remove the "forward" portion with the 'glass if you wanted to and just have the canvas part, or is that one piece all the way from the arch to the top of the windshield?

Maybe you can tell from this picture that it's one piece all the way from the arch:

That picture answer my question perfectly, thank you. That is exactly the type of look/function I was talking about.

Now I just have to decide if I want to pony up the dough...clearly my existing framing wont work with what I want to do.

The garffig is new controls with 4 levers for individual shift and throttle control. The swim platform is custom from swimplatform. Com it sits on top of the existing platform so I think it should be high enough not to drag on acceleration.

I am having trouble loading pics with my iPhone. What am I doing wrong ?

In case any of you need to replace the curtain slides (mine get yanked off by visitors and myself several times a year), here's a place I've found where you can buy replacements for both the aft and forward cabin curtain slides. On the aft slides, I just cut a slit in one side of the "U" and slide the elastic loop in. This saves having to sew a new elastic loop on each time.

Sal, you may need the iPhone app for CSR to be able to upload pics.

Is that a woodgrain type look on the panel...hard to tell from the pictures?

Looks like you are replacing your electronics as well, and you appear to have the same holes cut in your dash as my 290 does. Let me guess, a Raytheon RL9 Radar and Garmin GPSMap 200 series? I'd be interested to know what you are doing to address the cut-outs as well.

It is a burl wood finish. I think I am going to fill the holes in the dash I have some gel coat left over from another project.

Sadler, Thank You for posting a link for the curtain slides! I have been looking since last year with no luck. Many of them were broke when I bought the boat last year.

Got the dash back together removed speedo and both tacks installed a duel eng digital tack and flush mounted the GPS

Looking good Sal...seems you've been quite busy.

I have a question about something else in this picture that caught my eye. When I got my boat I found a little black/dark grey canvas "boot" thing in one of the v-berth drawers and have never figured out what it was for.

But looking at this picture I'm thinking you have the exact same thing over the actuator for the power windshield vent. Am I correct that that is what its for?

Thanks ! Yes that is what is for it. I can't wait till the shrink wrap comes off so I can install the new swim platform and canvas!

New cockpit carpet installed today. I ordered the aft section in three sections matching the engine hatches so you can remove a hatch without taking up the carpet. Very happy with the outcome2012-12-15_14.47.28.jpg2012-12-15_14.45.40.jpg2012-12-15_14.46.09.jpg
