290 sundancers 1994-midyear 97 "We need a thread"

I can get you the info you need but I will not be able to get to my boat untill the weekend. Maybe one of the others can get it for you sooner

Probably someone will answer you soon, but if not, I'm going to the boat this weekend and if no answer by then, I'll measure for the table and fenders for you then. EDIT: Mike (Stress Aweigh), you've got the ball. :)

TIME WELL WASTSED

I have the same issue on my 97 270, small tank with the generator option. :smt021

We seem to be able to make it 5-6 days with two adults. :smt038

Good luck,

MM

How dumb am I didn't see this was a four year old post. I'll bet the OP figured it out. :smt021

16 1/2 inches from the forward edge and 9 1/2 inches from the starboard edge to the (estimated) center of the table mount measured with a carpender's tape on the top of the center hatch section on a '96 290 with factory installed cockpit table and cockpit carpet. I believe my measurements are accurate to +- 1/8 inch. It may behoove you to get Sadler's or or someone elses measurements - I don't know that SeaRay would use a fixture for installation of this type of option.

6" (dia) x 21" (oal) fender that have been adequate for inland and coastal use on fixed and floating docks.

Hope this helps - Bob.

Wow! Thank you Bob!

This is exactly what I needed. I would be willing to bet that they are all cut from the same template. Just because the precut hole in the carpet would need to line up with the table. Thank you so much for taking the time to do this for me.

6’x21’ sounds perfect. I didn’t want to go to big.

Thank you for all your help
Jason

It looks like alot more 1994-midyear 97 owners on here than their has been in the past. Thats great. We need a list.

I use the larger 9-10 inch fenders. The do not seem too big. They keep everything a good distance from the hull.

Does anyone know what type of paint SeaRay used to paint the bildge areas under the back berth (and most of the rest of the "un-seen" inside). My boat is a 1995 290 Sundancer. Here's a picture of the area I'd like to touch up. It's currently a grey putty color which I would just like to match. I just don't know what type to use and I would like to re-coat while I have it all empty and before I re-install everything.

Time,

Add me to your list! I just found the thread and glad it's here. Thanks!

I just bought a 95, 290 so I guess I'm in too! Does anyone know the actual weight of a boat this size? The manual reads 8,500 dry. I thought I read somewhere else 7.700 lbs. But some guys say 10.000 plus. Mine has single 454 Bravo III, Kohler gen, & A/C. My trailer is an alum. tri axle Fastload. It's advertised weight is 900 lbs. The previous owner added [2] 4" sections of PVC filled with concrete because he said the trailer would float when you backed it in the water. Has anyone actually scaled their boat and trailer, then subtracted the trailer weight for an actual boat weight? I think this info would make any excellent thread. Anyone up for starting it? I will scale mine when I pull it out for the year, but would like to know in advance what I have to haul when I go down to pull it out.

Thanks, My trailer only has 3500 lb axles so I think I'll be pushing the limit. I only plan to take out in fall and put back in at spring time. Only 90 miles one way from lake to warehouse. The previous owner said the trailer pulled O.K. but I'm guessing there may be some pucker factor involved. Thanks again.

How has the 290's summers been? I've been having a good one? Going to lake of the Ozarks this weekend for Aquapalooza.

I just bought a '94 290 Sundancer. Its a step up from my 19" Four Winns. Lookinf forward to being a part of this thread.

You will love the boat. We need pics!!!!!!

I need some help uncovering an unknown water source. When I removed one of the two tiny screws holding my shower sump box (under the aft berth) a reddish brown smelly water came up through one of the holes. Does anyone have any idea how water could get below this self contained bilge area? I also notice that when I applied pressure with my hand to the plywood base, that more water pushed up through the hole. When I released pressure, the water would stop seeping up through the hole.

The reason I replaced this sump box is that it cracked and failed - causing water to build up in this bilge area. My first thought is that some of this standing water seeped down through the epoxy covered plywood base and collected underneath. However, that doesn't explain why the water is reddish brown and smells. I would presume this area is contained to what is below the sump box. Other than a tiny hole in the bottom of the boat (which I'm 99.99% sure is not the case as I've had it on a lift recently), can anyone come up with another suggestion as to other possible alternatives of how liquid could fill in this space? Any help would be greatly appreciated... I'm thinking of carefully hand-drilling a 3/4 hole in the middle of this plywood base to get a better look but wanted some additional input first....

PS. I recently applied Tan Sani-Tred to all of these water hold areas under the Aft-berth and replaced the Sump Box, Fresh Water pump (and added an Accumulator Tank) and also removed and completely sanitized my fresh water holding tank. I'll post pictures soon.
