Just bought a 2006 290 Amberjack. I feel foolish but... what am I missing to get the AC power to the distribution panel. When I plug into the dock, I have 120AC at the meter but nothing throughout the boat. No lights, no A/C, no radio, no fridge. All work with generator and engines running. All breakers are on, main breaker is on. Is there something another switch or should the battery switches be on. I think the the battery charger is on, at least I hope. Just upgraded from 270 Rinker and there all we did was switch main from Shore to Generator. What am I doing wrong?

I just picked up a 94 290, and when i plugged in I found myself with the same problem. What i had was a couple switches over top of the panel itself that need to switched on for anything to work. Not sure if anything has changed that way since 94 but worth a look

Most lights and definately the radio work off the 12V system so you need to have the battery switches on regardless of being connected to shore power. The fridge is probably 120v and 12v depending on whats available.

For the 120v items like AC, cooktop, etc. you need to have the breakers for them on and your shore/generator switch set to whetever you are using for 120v power source .

First, there are two panels. One on the stbd side in the cockpit. The other in the salon. I believe the cockpit panel is all DC.

Somewhere, you have a transfer switch to switch from the generator to shore power. If the generator was added after the boat was initially purchased (since SR wanted a lot of $$), the location of that switch may not be obvious.

There is a switch where the shore power plugs in that needs to be turned on.
Also, the AC converter switch needs to be turned on.

I agree with Northshore 60 - try the switch immediately above where the shore power plugs into the boat in the trunk.
