The VHF radio on my sundancer was basically installed at knee level...making it difficult to hear and read the VHF radio. I figure they did that due to lack of space on the upper dash. Any suggestions....would a hand held vhf solve be the answer...or is it possible to get a separate speaker mounted higher up on the arch etc??

thanks...forum

I have the same issue on my 280. Really do not have a good fix. I did replace my Raymarine VHF 240 with a Garmin 300 VHF and the Garmin does have a much louder speaker. Interested to see what other 280 owners have done to their boats.

I purchased a Standard Horizon Quantum to fill the big hole left by the Ray 215, and then a Ram Mic up high in the starboard corner of the helm. Full audio and display on the Ram Mic

You can also seek out a Ray E46019 handset and it will do the same and connects to your 215
