First time issue with my 280 Sundancer Quick Windlass. Windlass was factory installed on my 2007 280 and hasn't had any issues until this weekend.

Pulling up anchor in a new to us cover this weekend, we hooked a large tree and pulled it up with the windlass. The windlass just quit on us after we saw the tree emerging from the water.

Anyhow, here are the symptoms of the issue:
- "Click" sound in the bow windlass locker when using the helm buttons. No motor start, nothing.
- Nothing happens when using the foot pedals on the bow - no "click", nothing.

Here's what I've done to try to fix the issue.. with no luck:
- Checked EIM Ctrl fuse at helm - not tripped and fine.
- Checked EIM fuse in engine compartment - not tripped and fine.

After reading posts on the forum and using my owners manual wiring scheme, I also located a 5AMP fuse on the solenoid in the engine compartment, appears fine but replaced anyway. Also located a 10AMP fuse in line in the windlass locker. (The manual states this should be a 5 AMP but it was a 10 and came from factory that way - I never changed anyway). Either way, appeared fine but replaced anyway.

With all the above steps complete, no windlass motor running and still no response using the foot pedals at all. The Helm buttons do give me a "click" in the windlass locker.

Other boaters (not necessarily sea ray owners) keep telling me to check for a "reset" button on the motor. I can't find this and the wiring diagram does not show anything of the sort. Anyone know of something like this?

Any other ideas on possible solutions?

Thanks!

Thanks JimFromMD! Found the relay and reset the tab... exactly what you thought.. All set and working fine now.. Really appreciate you taking the time to reply and share your photo and post. All the best,
Tom

No problem, and glad you are fixed with something so simple... I did the same fire drill after the anchor jammed in the roller/chute. Searched high and low that weekend before posting on CSR on Monday about it, and thankfully someone mentioned that relay. Pretty common question the first time you run across the issue.
