Hey folks, I've been trouble shooting my windlass for a couple hours. Works fine in the cockpit(I'm a airline mechanic)LOL, not working on the foot buttons. traced all wires like some told me, no problem, they were all way out of the way. Want to guess what it was?? A small fuse, had to find it w/a mirror and flash light. Works like new now on the foot switch. The foot switches are subject to water even know the button is sealed with rubber, how ever mine had trash in the drain holes and probably shorted.:smt038

Do you have a pic or can you describe exactly where the fuse was located? Just for future reference. Thanks for sharing.

:thumbsup:No problem, look w/a mirror at the underneath portion of the junction box, its right there. It actually says foot switch on the fuse cover. Hope that helps, the fuse holder is attached w/a screw to the under side of the deck, right underneath the forward part of the winch itself, use a mirror and flash light in the anchor well locker door.

usually fuse blows when someone steps on both foot switches same time.
