270 Sundeck Stern Light Problem

Am I missing something here or what. If I have my bimini top laying down it blocks the socket for my white light for night navigation. I can't believe that Searay did not take this into consideration in the design of the boat. I love my my Sundeck but this is a real pain. Does anyone have any solution for this problem? Thanks

You're right - it probably wasn't taken into consideration. But, that's likely because the bimini top is designed to stay in the upright position and the only time one typically puts it down is to go into a garage or under a bridge.

The only thing you could really do is move the light to another area. But, why not just leave the bimini up all the time? Seems to me it would be more of a pain to put it down and have to step around/over it?
