I'm a new Sea Ray owner and experiencing some battery difficulties. The boat won't start, and despite having shore power plugged in for some time now, the batteries don't seem to be holding a charge. Pretty much all of the other electronics work fine (bilge blower, radio, horn, etc). However, I can't open the engine hatch to jump start the boat.

Anyone run across this and have any insight? Its a 2013 270 SLX. Any information on opening the engine hatch for a jump start or anyone else who's run across battery issues please help me out!

Are you sure the breaker for the charger is turned on? My hatch will open on the battery charger even if the batteries are dead.

There is a manual release inside of an access port on your starboard sunpad storage compartment. Open the compartment, swing the filler cushion out of the way, open the round access port and pull the pin out. Can then lift really hard and manually open hatch. Need something to prop it open though.

Breaker is definitely on and been so for a few hours now. I'm heading back to check on it in the morning so I'll try looking for the pin release. I know the sunpad storage compartment you are referring to so I'll take a look. I've read a few forums that refer to a 12v power release. Is that only on older models?
