270 SLX Battery Charging Issues

I just took delivery of my new 270 SLX - I love the boat but have had a bunch of "small" problems. Here's one that is baffling me:

I got the shore power w/ battery charger option with boat. Last week I left the boat w/ shore power and battery charger on and the battery selector switch on battery 1. When I returned the refrigerator was barely running and the battery was almost completely dead and didn't make a sound when I tried to start the boat.

It seems as though the refrigerator (12V only) is draining the battery - even when the shore power/battery charger is on.

Is it me or shouldn't I expect the battery with the charger and shore power on to support the refrigerator??? What would be the point of the shore power otherwise on this type of boat!! Has anyone heard of this?

It might be different with the newer models, but on my 270 there was a switch at the helm to change the fridge to 12 volt. If you are plugged in you want that off so it runs on shore power.

Congratulation on the new boat. Sounds like a punch list item for your dealer.

No switch on the dash. It's a 12V fridge - only works off of the battery. I called Sea Ray and they confirmed it's 12V only but said a battery on shore power should sustain a refrigerator. I thought it might be an issue with the shore power itself buts it's reading 120 and the green light is on. I'm thinking it might be a problem with the charger itself. The wierd thing is my brother-in-law bought exactly the same boat at the same time (and in the slip right next to me) and had the same problem when he had an issue with the bildge float getting stuck - it stayed on and eventually drained the battery.
