270 DA Shore Power Question

I just bought a 2000 270 Sundancer and have a question on shore power. After I hookup my shore power, I can't run my radio or bilge pump unless I turn on the ignition, not the engine, but turn the switch enough to power everything up. - is this reality? Does the ignition need to be on to run everything or am I missing something? Can't find anything in the manuals/

Any help would be very appreciated - thanks!

Yes the ignition has to be turned to the left for the radio. Not sure about the bilge.
