I have a new 2012 260 Sundeck (first boat) that I put in a boatel nightly so I need to put down my biminis each evening. I have only had the boat for a few weeks and still seem to struggle with the correct down positions for the double biminis. I read another post but it talked more about how to put the biminis down if I were alone. I usually have another adult with me to help hold things in place.

The 260 has 3 post positions on each side. The front bimini has posts on the window frame for the forward connection point and posts on the gunwale at the midpoint for the rear connection point of the front bimini. The rear bimini has posts on the rear gunwale for it's rear connection point while the front connection point is on the rear arm of the front bimini. If you have a 260 this hopefully makes sense.

So, here is what I did today....

I disconnected the front posts of the rear bimini and laid the bimini down towards the rear of the boat. The bimini basically laid on top of the transom. I was able to velcro the 2 legs together but there seemed to be a little stress on them. I then disconnected the rear posts of the front bimini and laid it backwards leaving the front arms connected to the posts on the window frame. Both biminis laid on top of the rear cover after I put it on. However, neither bimini really looked or felt like I disconnected the right posts.

Another time I removed the front posts of the rear bimini and, after removing the rear posts of the front bimini, I reconnected the front posts of the rear bimini to the middle posts and then removed the rear posts and it seemed a little more correct. However, it is definitely more time consuming.

I know this is confusing. I am confused just typing it :). Anyway, is there a correct way to store the double biminis on a 260? And more importantly, is there an incorrect way that may damage something? For example, the first time I did it, I tried putting the front bimini forward with the front posts connected but it put a lot of pressure on the window frame.

Thanks for any advice.

I guess I am lucky as I am on the top rack so I do not need to let my tops down. Can they move you to a larger rack that would allow you to keep your top up.

This is why I just pay the stacking fee for height above the windshield. Now to your question the bimini's should both lay backwards. My boat is a little different but I would imagine that you disconnect the rear of the rear to lay it down. Then the rear and front of the front bimini and lay it backwards as well.
