My buddy has a 2007 260 with 6.2 litre and bravo 3 drive, his top speed is 35 mph at 4500, cruises at 30 mph at 4000, I know it’s a fast cruise, but do the numbers sound right? What should his cruise be at 3200? Or what RPM for 26 mph?

That does sound fairly correct. Those boats are very heavy and cruising plane cannot be achieved at anything under 3500 rpm's. I have an 2008 with a 350 and I achieve plane around 3500-3600 rpm's at around 25 mph. I typically run it at around 3800 rpm's at roughly 27-28 mph.

That engine has a WOT quite a bit higher than 4,500. If memory serves, it's either 5,000 or 5,200.

I suspect one of a couple things are happening...

-- He's not properly trimming the boat for max speed. He should be able to get into the 40's.
-- The hull is dirty or the props are fouled.
-- The engine is low on compression
-- Maybe a few other things - but you get the idea
