I have been doing ok with the repairs and the cosmetics, but have run into a problem. My trim doesn't work at all. The motor runs, but no movement at all. The mechanics at the marina can't seem to help. I asked if it might be low on fluid and they told me the fluid level was fine, but I never saw any kind of reservoir.
Has anyone ever had the problem that I have: if so, I could really use some help. I really appreciate any help with this. It is an OMC 800 series outdrive connected to a 260 hp. chevy engine I think

thanks,
Mike

I have the same setup, check the solenoids, I think there are 2 of them for the trim, one for up and one for down. If the solenoids are fine then check the trim motor itself. First thing I would do ie replace the solenoids , they are only around $20 each

Stringers usually have a worm gear driven trim system that rarses and lowers the front of the engine. You should hear it run. Check the big fuses on stbd aft side of engine first. If both are good check the solenoids then the motor. Make sure all connections.are clean and tight.

If the motor is running and the drive doesn't respond then its the worm gear or gear bolted to the drive that lifts the outdrive. I had an electric shift with the same problem and it was the worm gear. Good luck
