What's the deal with the electrical system on a 560DB? I see that it has both volt systems on the panel. How does that work? Do you plug both in at the same time? Not that I should care I don't have that boat and probably never will but I'm curious.

Wrong answer.

I have two plugs that go to shore power. One is a 50A 240V and the second is a 50A 125V. I plug both in because some systems need 240V (heat/AC units, stove, water heater). If I go to a marina that only has 30A power available I gave an adapter that has two 30A 125V plugs on the shower power end, and a plug that goes into my 50A 240V shore power cable. The boat's electrical panel lets me select the main breaker position that uses that incoming power and supplies both 240V and 125V power to the boat.

On my panel I have four separate sections: 240VAC, 120VAC, 24VDC and 12VDC.

I have the same set-up as Gofirstclass on my '99 56' Sedan Bridge. I had the old-style ends replaced on my cords this winter so I can now just plug directly into any 50-amp with both sides without an adaptor. If I'm somewhere without 2 50s, I can adapt to a 30 if needed.

My friend's 2002 560DB has a single 50amp, 250volt cord and I believe the 125volt side is handled by utilizing one of the hots and the neutral for single phase 125v systems. No need for a separate cord on this model to obtain 125volts for the refers and whatnot.

I have a single cord that is 240v 50amp. There are not too many marinas where I get a direct connect, so I have y adapter with 2 legs of 120v 30amp, I also have a 120v 30amp to 240v 50amp, but with this adapter my HVAC & water heater do NOT work...

Here's what my power panel looks like....

But the newer version is a bit different with no 125 volt shore power connection. I can take a photo this weekend if it helps anyone.
