my prop is pretty chewed up...fins are bent backwards.... i just bought this boat a month ago and has ben in the water a week.... half to full throttle there is no change in speed..... u can hear the motor trying tho.... it comes with a 15/16 prop stock... three blade what are your opinions???? step up to a 4 blade??? diffrent sizing???? any help would be appriciated....thanks

Do not run a damaged prop. You can cause even more damage to the outdrive itself (bearings etc..).
I am assuming you are running down there on Lake St. Clair and would suggest staying with the stock prop in aluminum. The aluminum can save you lots of $'s should your prop ever encounter the lake bottom or spring debris.

We blew up an outdrive because of running a damaged prop. The prop caused the seal on the prop shaft to wallow out which allowed all the gear lube to leak out which killed the drive...total loss.

my buddy loaned me a prop and it seems the shaft area in the prop is not long enough?? the nut wont tighten all the way down... is there a spacer or something or can i not even use this prop???

This is direction for an alpha outdrive:
There should be a stepped washer put on first. It goes on only one way because of a taper (largest diameter closest to the outdrive).
The prop is next and should nest into the stepped washer. Next the splined castle washer followed by the tabbed lock washer and then the nut. You need to be sure the nut is nested into the tabbed washer.
When installing the nut I usually pull the washer up against the nut as I am tightening it.

i firgured out was was going on... my prop i took off had the tab washer receiver on the prop itself.... get a new one and problems are gone...thanks
