My 2000 SeaRay 240 Sundeck with 5.7 L Merc & Bravo III temperature gauge is not working. I replaced both the sending unit on the engine block and the gauge in the dash. Still nothing. Any ideas? I will check continuity of the connecting wires next but perhaps someone has had this problem before and can save me some time trouble shooting.

Hey Tom,

Do you have the wiring diagram? It looks you have two four wires in total going to the water temp sensor; two going to the engine harness (one for the alarm and the other for the sensor), one ground, and I believe the last is going to the light switch. (This is what I'm gathering from a quick look though the wiring diagram, so I could be wrong!).

The good thing is that with the exception of the tan wire going to the water temp sensor, the other three wires are common to the other gauges. I would definitely start with checking continuity with those three wires and the other gauges.

My guess is that you have a problem somewhere with the tan wire.
