I’m looking for a tower for our 2007 240 Sundeck. I’ve done research and like the OEM swept back design and its ability to keep the factory Bimini. I reached out to Monster Tower as I heard they made the OEM tower and this was their response.
“XTP was the producer of the factory Sea Ray tower. They generally only go back 5 years. You can contact them via phone at 865-981-9898. If they do not have anything available you can check out our aftermarket towers at monstertower.com

Can anyone help in finding one?
Maybe post up you pictures of your aftermarket options?

Thanks.

Very nice, thanks. Did your install spots line up with the thicker part of the hull for the factory tower?

The hull was pretty thick, we didn’t have to install anything other than the backing plates that came with the tower. I don’t know if mine had extra thickness where the factory tower mounted.

Hi there Daryl, question for you, we just purchased a 2007 240 Sundeck with a factory tower, which must be similar to the one you have/had on your boat. We have not even taken possession of the boat yet. The question is, is it easy to collapse the tower (like to go under a low bridge), and if so what is the tool that you used to collapse the tower.

It has two large screws on each side you takeoff. Then it folds down. It is at least a two person job. That is why I removed mine..

I really like it. In addition to wakeboarding, it also is a nice grab handle when out on the swim deck/boarding and keeps the wakeboard and skis out of the boat.

None of the towers recommend that you pull a tube from them, you will want to pull from the back of the boat still.

if you are doing heavy duty wakeboarding you may want to mount it normally. Apparently pulling from the middle vs back of the boat allows the wakeboarder to be closer to the boat with a bigger wake. Personally I don’t want anyone near the prop, so it doesn’t matter to me if they are a bit farther back.

Thanks for the info Colo, My grandkids age ranges from 2 to 13, so we do a wide range of stuff on the boat. The low attach point causes issues from everything from wakeboarding to tubing. I have never owned a boat with a wake tower, but just last week I saw a boat towing a tube from their wake tower, and I thought that might be our answer, but looks like it is not. May still get the wake tower, but continue towing tubes from the original attachment point.

You can pull the little kids from the tower because you aren’t going to submarine the tube. The tower is really helpful when the kids are learning wakeboarding. I would still recommend it. it’s like everything else, use some common sense and you will be fine.

Also, they make floats to keep the rope out of the water. Might be an option

@ColoSR I just received my Cuda tower, and am currently assembling a dry fit on my shop floor, I was looking at your attachment points, that is similar to where I want to attach mine, did you have any trouble with accessing the back side to tighten up the mounts. Any ideas, suggestions would be appreciated.

Jayhawk, I ran out of time so I had the fiberglass shop put it on. They didn’t have to cut any access holes. If you got the light, I would recommend fishing the wire through as you are putting the tower together. The instructions said do it later but that was a real pita

Ok I have got to figure this thing out, I have it assembled in the shop. I have found out my boat has reinforcement pads glassed in, but they are not the right spacing for the cuda tower I bought. It looks like I can’t use either pad, because the tower would interfere with the Bimini, I have spent hours measuring and looking at the next ways to mount it, but I just am not sure. Just rambling hoping someone will volunteer to install it for me.

Jayhawk, Are you reverse mounting the tower? Looking at the pics on their website, The arch (should) go to the rear, so it ends up above and behind the Bimini.

That is my plan, but in order for the Bimini to clear the tower while setting it up, it will have to be further aft than the factory support pads. By my measurements anyway. I am beginning to wish I would have saved my money and not bought a tower.

When I had this boat, I had to pull the pins at the poles base to lower it to put up the top. Even SR did a poor job of measuring clearance on that boat. If you look close you can see the folded top right against the arch.

Well this turned into a cluster flop, I finally picked my mounting spots, they were aft of the factory installed support pads to help clear the bimini. Well my dumb ass did not account for the tower narrows as you go towards the top. I got the tower in place, then put the bimini back on the boat. not even close to usable. The bimini rests on the tower, wont lay down far enough and is too narrow to put the rear support poles in position. I have no idea what to do at this point. I feel the bimini is probably more important to us with the little grands and my wife. I looked back at @ColoSR pic, his bimini looks to be a different style than mine, the rear supports on his are longer than mine, and my port side has 2 supports. So in a nut shell I have 4 holes in my boat, but on the positive side, at least they are above the water line. ;) Any ideas? Maybe find an aftermarket bimini that will fit?

I think I have the same bimini, my tower is a little farther back and the front bars are a little wider. It might be a little lower on the boat.
