I'm sure this is the forums somewhere, but has anyone come up with a good plan for a higher point to attach a ski rope? A higher point capable of towing floatables would be HUGE bonus but I'll take one just to simply ski with. 2001 240 SD. Thanks!

We had a similar issue with our 06 220SD. When pulling a tube, unless the rider kept their weight WAY back and unless I got the boat up on plane FAST, the tube would submarine. The ski hook is too low and the wake the boat throws below planing speed is too high.

Aside from hitting the throttle hard and making sure the riders are as far back on the tube as possible, I did some research and decided to try a Booster Ball. It has helped with tubes a lot but isn't really something that works for skiers. It is basically an inflatable ball in the middle of the tow line that keeps the line above the water and keeps more of an upward pull or lift on the tube, regardless of the boats attitude. It's also a pain to have to inflate and deflate every time you want to tube, but it beats dragging your kids underwater!

Have you looked at a ski pylon? Not sure if it would be in the way the rest of the time, but it should work for what you are wanting.

I plan on a Booster Ball next spring so glad to hear it helped.

I was hoping someone had a really great "install" fix for a higher pole. Adding a Wake tower is expensive, only solves skiing issues, and then would have to be folded down each time to raise the lift. I prefer not to mess my boat up with a bolt-on pylon or tri-pod which also can give with a floatable pull.
I see the same problem on the newer boats (eyeballing new 240). Disappointing that the "higher" floatable capable tow issue has not been addressed by most boat makers especially in the larger boats >21 ft. You can find it in some 21-22 ft boats such as Bryant.
