24 volt charger what is the charging voltage?

Ok so thruster batts are done. 2 group 31’s in series to make a 24 volt bank. I got 4 years out of this set of AGM’s. Question I have is what is the voltage you are seeing on your charger? I think I might be cooking these things as I see 26-28 volts on mine.
 
@ocgrant Grant that is about right for the charger, but not for the batteries. I would be using a 24v battery and you would probably get better battery life.
 
It depends upon the charging phase. Resting at 100% charge the battery bank should be at 25.4 volts (charger not turned on). Battery cell specific gravity should be 1.277 at full charge for lead acid. At bulk and absorption voltages can be up to 28.6 volts - driving electrons into the batteries. Float should be about 26.2 volts. However, these are plus or minus for lead acid batteries but can vary depending upon the manufacturer and type of battery.
