230 Select BR - Repowering

I just purchased a "new" engine for my 1996 230 BR. I got the 7.4mpi. Two questions - one how difficult will it be to replace the exising carburated 350? The guy in the shop thinks it wont be bad, will my existing outdrive be ok (alpha 1.) I am hoping the fact that the boat is primarily run at high altitude (mountain lakes of colorado) will reduce the horsepower ennogh that ill be fine with the existing outdrive...

On a side not my current top speed is around 45mph now - where should i be after upgrade?
