Just found out the previous owner can't find the ice cooler for the boat. I need that cooler becasue it gets pretty hot here in Florida. Does anyone know how I can order that particular cooler for the boat that fits in the slot in the cabinet. Is there anything special about that cooler that you need that specific one to fit in the slot.

Standard (I think 24 or 36 quart) igloo marine cooler. Maybe one of the other 220SD owners will chime in with the right size.

Most likely the 36 quart. But I am not positive.

The standard cooler sucks in my opinion. The only good thing is that it fits. Length and with are the main issue here (height is OK). I was able to fit one of those 5 day coolers in that spot however you literally have to tilt the cooler about 30 degrees to get it in the locker. Then once it's in there, it's a mess getting it out.

I recently removed the cooler 'frame' if you will, and have been trying various coolers to see what fits best. So far, my favorite is my soft sided cooler. It fits great, has a shoulder strap and is pretty good at keeping things cool. Plus is that it has a top 'flap' to pull things out of the cooler without opening the top all the way.

Once you remove the cooler frame, you can fit about 4 beach chairs, a cooler and other various items in the storage locker. In my opinion, that frame is just a nice way of keeping the cooler in place. Just my $0.02.

Sounds like a similar set-up in ours. Cooler slides end-first onto a channel just ahead of the helm ?
Put a cooler in when we bought the boat as previous owner didn't have it.
Moved the hinges from the side to the end. Easier getting "stuff" out as you don't have to pull it all the way out to open.

The stock 36 quart Igloo cooler is only good at keeping things cold for part of a day. If I were going to buy a new one to fit the space I would look at something like a Coleman Xtreme 36 quart cooler ( Interior: 19.75" x 7.75" x 10" Exterior: 26" x 14.75" x 14"). I think it will fit the space and be way more efficient at keeping things cold.

I believe I have the Coleman Xtreme 36Q. It technically fits, but you have to tilt it at a 30 deg. angle to get it in the door. If I stay with this cooler, I will come up with some sort of drain to allow the melted ice water to have a place to drain out to. Maybe just a hose connected to the drain with a shut-off valve that allows the water to drain to the bildge area. On my boat, we are always fighting for cooler space. One cooler is typically full of water, pop, beer and wine and the other cooler is full of food. I would also like to make the bow cooler big enough to hold at least 20 bottles/cans.
