Hi all,

Having an issue with my 2004 weekender with the carb'd 5.0... I get the alarm intermittently with no gauge issues, then later get an overheat when at power for a few minutes. I've changed the water pump, t stat, inspected the risers. I also have gauge issues, but mostly the normal ones (speedo and trim indication). I was wondering if anyone had had similar issues and if it was electrical? Also (recently and without any change) my bilge pump switch works with the battery switch off (not the float, the switch).

Thanks

"Later, get an overheat"... The gauge shows high temp or does the alarm sound?

Did you replace the circulating water pump or the raw water pump/impeller? If the impeller, did you do the kit or just the impeller? If just the impeller, were there ANY signs of scoring on plates/housing? What was the condition of the old impeller?

Sounds like you have electrical gremlins. Battery condition? Get it load tested. Remove/inspect/clean/replace/tighten every cable, starting at the battery, both +/-. Follow the cables/wires everywhere they go. Inspect the fuses.
