I have a 2000 Sundeck 210 with the swim platform. I am considering installing a fish finder/GPS on it and am wondering if anyone has any pics of their transducer mount? I would definitely want the hole for the cable to be drilled above the waterline, but the way the back of this boat is designed, especially with the factory swim platform makes me wonder about how to feed the cable. I have seen them installed on the same model before, but have never seen the back of the boat where the transducer cable goes into the hull.

If you look on the starboard side you can see the transducer cable exiting the engine bay and down the aft section of the hull. My hull is a little deeper, but this should give you an idea where to exit. I also added a swim platform after this install. This is a photo from 2012.

Here is a pic of mine. I believe that I could enter the hull underneath the platform and stay above the waterline, however, if boats pass or we drip and the water has some chop to it, it would probably have water come above the hole as the boats bobs in the chop. Just trying to determine the correct path for entering the boat. Thank you for your reply.

Drill through both the platform flange and the transom with a hole larger than what you need. Fill the hole with epoxy resin (might need to first fill the gap between the flange and the transom). Then redrill the proper size hole. Use a clamshell and fill it with a good sealant like LifeCaulk. You can do the same trick for the clamshell screws.

You're above the waterline, so even if you did this a lesser way, splashing doesn't matter. But this way, even if water got past your sealant, it would simply drip into the bilge - it will never make it's way into the transom core (wood).
