205 Sport Factory Depth Gauge

My 2006 205 Sport's depth guage started swinging wildly. It goes from blank reading to 500 ft even though I am in water of only about 20'. Dealer advised me to reset but there is no clear reset button and no informatoin in the owners manual. Any suggestions?

What depth gauge do you have? My 05 Sport has the Hummingbird 600 which likes to default to 3.5' (2' offset) if I come off plane too fast. The set/reset button doesn't do much I just have to wait it out.
