How do they measure square footage on a tapered v hull? Thats the weidest i heard yet.
They just do the "box". IE: 14'6" wide x 42 OAL = 609 sq ft x $10.75 = $6,546.75 + $300

Length x widest width …it’s a rip off
And usually someone's bow pulpit is over my swim platform and mine is over someone's swim platform.

I suppose, but the boats take up a rectangle shape. Why should I pay the same at 10 feet wide as the dude who's 14 feet wide. He uses more space.

I agree. Our indoor storage spot is the same….based on square foot.

i can see that. But if PhilS want to store his 17' Montauk under the bow of a big yacht, does he get indoor storage for free? Cause the yacht is already paying for that dead space. Hey, Phil, you need to investigate this concept.

PS. The category is titled Winterizing, not Summer Slip Rates. Try to keep up.

In that case, SH is $50/ft for outside in slip storage. What makes no sense is they only charge $32/ft to store on land. I guess because they also have required services, those make up the difference.

Keep in mind, people that are saying $100 plus are annual rates. People in the teens are monthly.

We pay $8.25 per sq foot, no extra for stands for heated storage in Grand Haven, might pay to take the boat across the lake. There are a lot of big boats from the Chicago area storing at our marina.

Same here. It's great to stand up on your swim platform and hit your head on their anchor. Several times o_O

Our marina just advertised (on fbook) outdoor winter storage at $28/ft
Includes nothing but the ground the boat sits on.

Ok my bad @Pirate Lady I didn't see the Winterize part

This is from last year when I had the Sundancer. This is just the storage.

I sat down today with lady owns Markleys where i stored last year, and i will say to the internet crowd i was wrong, too complicated to explain, but rates same as last year, and she promised to put me right against the building with easy water, electricity access, so thats done. My mechanic is there and i have him booked to winterize, service oil in od and engine.
500 ft from Crazy Tuna. Very happy.

Fun new update this year. If you winter store with them, shrinkwrap is required. $10.50/sq ft incl wrap. So for the 21' cc, that's about 2 bucks.

Long island 64/ft for haul, wash, land, block, launch. Another 11/ft to wrap. Luckily i chose the only marina that lets you do your own work to save on the 600/outdrive, 300/motor + parts.

Getting back to WINTER storage fees.....mine is $35.00/foot to haul, power wash, block up and Spring re-launch. Nothing more and nothing less.

Going forward how about everyone honor the original question if you want to comment in this thread?

I decided to change winter storage location this year. Turns out all of the local marinas want a survey for older boats like mine before they'll let you store. Apparently a lot of what I call "PPP boaters" are abandoning their boats after finding out how much it actually costs to maintain and store a boat and the marinas are getting stuck with getting rid of them.
