I just bought a 2018 Sea Ray SDX270 OB, its blocked up at the dealer and I would like to update the terrible snap in carpet flooring thats currently in there. I also wanted to replace the sea decking on the swim platform since one piece is missing. Does anyone have any website or companies you can recommend for replacement of both the seadec and the interior carpet? Undecided on what to go with for the carpet replacement but Id love your option for a cost effective option and things you have done/considered. I have only found marinemat and seadec as viable options thus far but would love to hear how people with marinemat has held up after a few years or if the synthetic aquamat product is the better route. thanks for the assistance!

Where are you located?

Not sure how you store your boat but in my experience SeaDek is a 5 year solution. I loved mine but even though it was kept under cover in a moderate climate, I always struggled to keep it glued down.

I have installed sea dek on 10 boats between mine and friend‘s.
Every factory install of SeaDek has had adhesion failure on at least one piece.
I have not experienced an adhesion failure of a single piece in over 10 years since I have been using it. Installation prep is key….

snapincarpet.com is a great source for the cockpit flooring. Many options available.

This stuff can help keep your EVA decking in-place if you decide to replace it:

Very interesting. I'd love to put SeaDek in again but had become very disenchanted with it's longevity.

+1 on the weldwood cement. I did some Seadek on my Sundancer and that sutff worked great.

OP: can you order it direct from Searay? It's a factory option on the SDX so they might sell you the whole kit all cut to shape (guessing).

I like Seadek but once you put it down, that's Seadek forever unless you have the time/patience to try to restore the original non skid (which I do not).

Good boat choice! I'm considering a used 250 SDX OB that's for sale locally.

This was from a kit I got from snap-in-carpet since they had the boat template already on file (glued in with the above cement).

Thanks for the replies. It has been difficult to locate a pre-made template for the 2018 SDX270, I only really saw 1 option from marine mat- and they couldnt guarantee it would fit but they do send you a template to check.

1) Is there a notable longevity difference between marine mat vs seadek? They are both expensive but I've read seadek is superior?
2) Does anyone have any leads to go off for the marine mat or seadek to get an accurate quote? They have local installers but I think its going to be 3-5K to have them template and install, which seems high for flooring.

My two cents with SeaDek installs that last

1) clean area thoroughly with something strong like acetone
2) use a good cement like weldwood, even for the peel-n-stick types
3) put heavy weights on top of the area while the adhesive dries

I had snap-in-carpet make me a big piece for my office desk. Now I can pretend boat in the off season.

Couple quick notes...

-- You could do snap-in Seadek if you didn't want to glue it down (or whatever brand you decide on)
-- NO company (other than Sea Ray) will guarantee fit without checking the template. This is because the templates on file are made by boat owners - and they could be wrong (I've seen it a few times). Always get the template. I'm not saying go with "SR" or go with a certain brand - in the end, they will all be fine.
-- Consider a less expensive option for the cockpit floor by using vinyl "weave" flooring - lots of patterns and colors to choose from - easier to clean than Seadek, too. As noted above, Infinity is one of the brands, FYI)
-- Both Corinthian Marine and Snap-In have vinyl weave options.
