hello all. ill lead off by saying I am not an audio head by any means so bear with me if this seems very elementary. Recently bought a 21 spx and tring to figure out the audio situation as we as determining a few things. here is the current setup.
In boat speakers- 4 Rockford fosgate 6.5 65 watts rms 250 peak
sub- 10 inch rockford fosgate sub 400 watts rms 1600 peak
2 wet sounds 6.5 tower speakers
Amp- Clarion 5 channel xc 2510 600 watts
so here is what I am trying to figure out. everythign is running off of the amp and i do not feel like the tower speakers are loud enough and feel that coupled with the sub is maxing out the amps power. also it is clear all right side speakers are wired together and all left side speakers are wired together. I have great sound out of my right bow, cockpit, and sub speaker but the left side is weak. i dont want to have to rewire everything so my plan is to run the left side speakers (in boat not tower) off of the head unit. hoping that this frees up enough power for the tower speakers and the left side boat speakers to be a little louder. am I way off base here? keep in mind it sounds pretty decent right now except for the left side speakers and when i really turn up the volume it reaches a point where it starts distorting. i know there are adjustments on the amp but im not there yet lol. thanks in advance for any help you can provide and again sorry for what is probably a basic audio question.
